Unable to connect to SMTP Server %s

Reported by: Keith S. <mozkeith2@…> Owned by:
Version: 0.6.0pre7 Keywords:

Not sure what happened here, I think this was working okay in 0.6.0pre6 and I know it was fine in 0.5.12.

Forwarding an email to recipient E. VI correctly sees that I have a stored identity for this person, and choose that virtual identity. However, when I go to send, it says "Sending of message failed. An error occurred sending mail: Unable to connect to SMTP server %S."

Note the "%S" instead of the actual server name.

It seems when my virtual identity was set, it did NOT correct choose the smtp server that is stored with it. (I checked the rdf file -- it has smtp4, and that does resolve correctly in prefs.js.)

I chose a different SMTP server explicitly to fix the problem. When I did, it prompted me to store the new given Identity. In the Stored Identity, the SMTP server was *blank*.

So somehow, smtp servers that appear to be correct in the rdf file are being read as empty strings when composing messages.

Hi Keith,

the %S indicates that Virtual Id tries to use the indicator for a not-saved identity directly as teh SMTP server. Yes, again a problem with the SMTP-handling, fixed in [94dbb351], included in 0.6.0pre8.

Thanks for the ticket, nice regards, Rene
