Description
I noticed is that there are 67 virtualIdentity directories in the Mail subdirectory of my profile (virtualIdentity till virtualIdentity-66). What are they for? Do I need 67 of them? Can I throw them away? If so, shouldn't virtualIdentity thrown them away?

Hello,
First, thank you for this great extension. I don't use it daily but it's sometimes -very- handy (e.g. combined with a catchall on my own domain; or with my spamgourmet.com account).
So, I got 296 directories with names as "virtualIdentity-294" in my ...Thunderbird\Profiles\XXXXXXX.default\Mail directory. Just tested with Thunderbird 2.0.0.16, VirtualIdentity? 0.5.5 and directories are still left over.
As I read that I can safely delete them, I don't really mind but I thought you might be interested.
Thanks again Olivier from Belgium

Hi,
thanks for the report. Just thought it's done, but seems like it's never final. :) Since (around) 2.0.0.16 Thunderbird creates not only directories, they now include some empty files. The current solution only removes empty directories, changed it to remove directories with empty files too. Hope [406] does the job. Beside, can't test it in working szenario, cause it's windows-only problem. So please test the 10th preview of 0.5.6 from the download section.
Regards and many thanks, Rene

Hello Rene,
Just tested. It's indeed fixed with 0.5.6pre10. (FYI: The fix works also when I start Thunderbird through DropMyRights?).
Great work. Thank you very much Cheers O.

This is a real problem I fought for a long time with. And than forgot to take care anymore. It seems to be only happening in Windows, I'm currently have found no way to safely remove those directory. They will be removed under Linux (and expected to be removed under MacOSX too). Every time a new virtual account is created, a new directory for storing mail-files is created by Thunderbird without any interaction. There is no way for me to remove the Folder later from into the Software, so have to look for a way to prevent Thunderbird from creating one at the beginning, but haven't found one yet.
And yes, you can remove them.
