Description
The options are confusing to me, i could not tell what was going to happen for almost any choices.
When I tried this, it seemed to just copy an email addres literally to the from (sender) address wheni hit reply. Since I had several identities set up for the account, I assumed it would find a matching identity (like add on correct identity does) (The author of correct identity suggested i try yours for a quation i asked him.)
Anyway, I have smtp at me.com, and use several identities forwarded to me.com. example: x@… forwards to y@…. So I get email to x@… from y@… account. me.com will ONLY accept SMTP from existing me.com address. So I can send from y@… "from" with reply-to address "x@…".
So it is not enough to simply change the from email, it must match the data inside the identity list, and come from y@… with virtual identity as a reply-to address.
Simply making "from" a virtual identity makes smtp reject the email.
I hope this is helpful feedback.
I could not make your plug in send any emails because of this.
Thanks for your efforts anyway.
Hi,
sorry for the late reply. Virtual Identity won't fit your requirements, it's only able to change the senders address. It is made for people which own some mail server or which use a mail server which allows sending with any identity. If this is not the case, you can't effectively use virtual identity.
Sorry again for being that late and not really helpful, nice regards, Rene
