#110 closed enhancement (fixed)
'Default' SMTP for an entry with a base identity should be (able to be) the default for that identity

Description
The SMTP choice stored is currently independent of the base identity. If you change the SMTP server for a 'real' identity, none of the stored virtual entries are updated.
I suggest adding a 'Default for Base Identity' option for the SMTP choice. This would allow the base identity to control the SMTP server used for their virtual identities.
'Default for Base Identity' would be the default SMTP setting where possible. If there is no base identity then the behaviour would be as now.
Selecting a specific SMTP server for a virtual identify would be unchanged and work as now.
This addition would not remove any current functionality, and doesn't change the current behaviour (until you change the SMTP setting for an account/'real' identity).
Aaron.

Hi Aaron,
it took ages, ok. But now it is done. I always got stuck at some point with the implementation till I found the simple solution. All we needed was to have an option not to store teh SMTP. Than the SMTP of the base Identity is used anyway. Finally it got implemented in 0.6.0pre3.
Thanks for your idea, nice regards, Rene
Hi Aaron,
sorry for the really late reply, traveling around the world I had and still have connectivity problems - so some things kept on the hold. Anyway, the idea sounds ok and not to difficult to implement. So I think this will be one of the features of next 0.6 (pre)release.
Thanks for your idea, nice regards, Rene
